Megan Coral, MS, LMFT, ASDCS, ADHD-CCSP
Megan Coral, MS, LMFT, ASDCS, ADHD-CCSP has been working with children, adolescents, and their families since 2006 when she began volunteering as a bereavement counselor in conjunction with her undergraduate studies in psychology. Megan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. Inspired by her supervisor at the bereavement center, Megan studied Marriage and Family Therapy and graduated with Master’s degree from Seton Hall University. Megan is licensed to practice Marriage and Family Therapy in New Jersey. Her license number is #37FI00178600.
Megan pursued training in Triple P: The Positive Parenting Program and has been certified to help parents of typically developing children and parents of children with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities improve their relationships with their children since 2018. Megan completed specialized training and holds certifications of an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Certified Clinical Services Provider.
Megan enjoys working with specialized populations including those who experience anxiety, have ADHD, are Autistic, have Diabetes, eating, exercise, and body image struggles, food allergies, grief, identify as LGBTQ+, postpartum moms, stress, and/or trauma. Megan has worked in outpatient settings and at higher levels of care.
Megan strives to make each person she works with feel safe, seen, and supported and knows asking for help is hard. Megan starts each session with a nonjudgmental approach and focuses on understanding each person's unique experiences, needs, and goals. Megan is a systemic thinker and utilizes strategies from solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation. Megan works to demystify psychology and has shared her knowledge with others through articles, in person and digital interviews, and presentations at conferences, schools, and libraries.
Outside of the office, Megan is a mom of two amazing kids and a wife to a supportive husband. Megan loves to express herself with bright colors, read, listen to audiobooks, learn languages, talk about superheroes and villains, start and sometimes finish crafty projects, take walks, dress up for theme days, and go to the beach.
